Electric Underfloor Heating – AluMat 140 W/m² in Kitchen, France

The Challenge

The client wanted to modernize a kitchen by adding underfloor heating beneath a wooden floor—without the complications of wet-laying, increased build height, or extensive renovation.

Our Solution

Heatcom recommended and supplied the AluMat 140 W/m² ultra-thin electric heating mat, ideal for wooden and laminate surfaces:

• Dry installation—laid directly over the existing subfloor, with no need for levelling compounds
• Minimal build-up—the mat is only ~1.5 mm thick and, when combined with a 3 mm reflector underlay, adds just ~10 mm to the floor
• Efficient heat distribution—the aluminium foil layer ensures even warming and acts as a grounding shield
• Built-in safety features—use of a thermostat with a floor temperature sensor and a limiter set to a maximum of 27 °C protects the wooden floor from overheating
• Reliable performance—designed for durability, the AluMat 140 W/m² comes with a 15-year warranty and meets CE standards
