Pengersick Castle in Praa Sands, Cornwall, is one of the UK\u2019s most historically significant \u2014 and famously haunted \u2014 properties. The Pengersick Historic and Education Trust<\/strong> commissioned essential restoration work to improve facilities for guests attending ghost nights, tours, and educational events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The castle\u2019s granite walls made traditional heating impossible, and the stone floors left the interior uncomfortably cold. The challenge was to install an efficient, unobtrusive underfloor heating system<\/strong> that would enhance visitor comfort while preserving the building\u2019s historic character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Through our subsidiary Heatmat<\/strong>, Heatcom Group<\/strong> supplied a 200 W\/m\u00b2 underfloor heating system<\/strong> designed specifically for high heat-loss areas like the castle\u2019s 500-year-old kitchen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The installation, carried out by GN Electrical of Truro<\/strong>, featured underfloor heating mats<\/strong> mounted on 20 mm thermal insulation boards<\/strong> to maximise efficiency and provide faster warm-up times.
