The Hilltop Leaf gutter heating proposal was prepared in June 2024. Hilltop Leaf requested a quotation for protecting its aluminium alloy gutter system during winter.
The facility has 28 gutter runs, each measuring 105 metres. Snow and ice could block the gutters and disrupt the drainage system.
The proposal aimed to prevent blockages and icicle formation. It also addressed the risk of roof or drainage damage affecting winter operations.
Heatcom UK prepared a quotation for a fully automated gutter heating system. The specification listed 2,144 metres of 7 mm UV-stable heating cable.
The proposed layout included three cable runs within each gutter. Specialised fixing brackets and roof adhesive were specified to secure the cables.
The automatic controls included external air temperature sensors and gutter moisture sensors. These components would detect the conditions associated with ice and snow.
The proposal also included an 11 kW Snow Stat controller with moisture input. This controller would use the sensor information to manage the system.
Hilltop Leaf could choose between standard and premium thermostat packages. The selected package would depend on the site’s operational requirements.
The proposed equipment falls within Heatcom’s heating solutions for roofs, gutters and drainpipes. The quotation does not confirm that the system was subsequently installed.
Because this case concerns a quotation, the results remain projected rather than measured. The proposed Hilltop Leaf gutter heating system was designed to provide continuous winter protection.
